Embossed Diecuts

Have you ever thought of using your diecuts as embossing plates? If you’ve answered no… you’re not alone lol... I hadn’t either 😱

but the results are great…

So, today we are going to take a look at the Honeycomb background die from Sue Wilson…

First of all let’s cut 3 out..

Now stick them together… to create some depth…

for more fragile dies use our TOP TIP Blog post - https://www.craftmaniacrafts.com/post/top-tip-layering-your-die-cuts

Once we have 3 all layered we have the perfect depth to work with (play around with different gsm‘s or card types to create different depths.

Now just like you would emboss a stencil in your machine… you can now use this as an embossing plate.

Read your machines instructions, dig out your rubber/tan/foam mat…

for my machine I use the diecut… card on top (face down).

rubber mat

cutting plate…

And send through the machine….

The mat will push the card in to the gaps in the diecut and create an embossed effect…

Now keep this diecut panel to one side so you can use time and time again!

Experiment with all your dies to create these effects!

Let us know how you get on!
