Hey Crafters....
I'm back with my next scrapbook journey!
I couldn't resist a page with my favourite time of the year - Halloween!
The Halloween goodies are out now, so grab them as they will be fading away just like the
Invisible Man lol....
Day 1
I indulged in a few new products to add to my stash from last year, so I am using a selection of each!
Now I don't know about you, but with page design papers, I just think of old wallpaper - rusty, wood and moon for Halloween. I searched through my papers and found this perfect sheet to use.
I always like to have a border on my pages; it's a card making thing I know, but I can't help myself!
▪️I trimmed my page down and attached it to a plain black 12x12 card.
I added some Cosmic Shimmer Silver Dream Gilding Polish to the edges.
▪️For the next stage I did a little experimenting, but it didn't quite go to plan. However, I still got away with it, as my page has that 'grunge' look.
▪️I used Designer Boutiques's Spooky Borders Stamp Set - the tomb stones for the top of the page and the cobwebs for the bottom.
▪️I stamped using Ranger's Perfect Medium Clear Ink Pad and then added some Cosmic Shimmer Mixed Media Embossing Powder. To say it looked different, would be the polite way of putting it lol!!
Looks like the next morning after a slug party.... but I did say I wanted GRUNGY!
The bottom part didn't look as bad, but guess the page print didn't really help matters.
DAY 2
So many Nightmares last night lol!!
You as crafters will understand what it's like when you are in the middle of creating and just can't put it to bed (excuse the pun). Lots of ideas, options and plans Oh My!
Come on Ian.... 💪
So today I have decided to do some die cutting. Now I loved last year's Collection, but wow this year's is special!! It's great to get some fresh blood..... I mean new dies to play with!
I called upon my Distress Oxide Inks which are perfect for this, and to add colour and stains etc to my elements.
The coffin here, is Jamie Rodgers' Creepy Coffin Die Set, and the bat is from Creative Expressions Paper Cuts Cut And Lift Collection - Bat-tastic.
The other pieces are from last year's Collection, and some oddments from my own stash.
DAY 3
Now of course you can use your own photos from your Halloween Shenanigans, however I just printed some pics from the internet for mine. It gives you an idea of what you can find and create.
I mounted my photos to give a framed look.
✅ TIP - Just check the images are ok to use, as some are covered by copyright laws.
I cut out Sue Wilson's "Happy Halloween" sentiment in red, so this will be the immediate focus and then eyes will look at all the spooky delights on the page. If you've ever seen Ghostbusters you will remember the painting on the wall with the eyes follow you around. Cry huh!!
Now it's time to play around with your elements to see where to put them.
I thought I might have to leave some piece off of my page, but I managed to make them all fit.
I didn't have any small cobweb dies to hand, so I suddenly had an idea.... cotton wool!
I also used a couple of sentiments from the Creative Expressions Wordies Sheets - Halloween Pack to finish my page off.
I've enjoyed creating a little theatre on this one... so much fun...so I may do another Halloween page nearer the time.
If anyone would like me to make a specific themed page, I'm certainly up for a challenge so pop in the comments or chat with me on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.
Thanks for joining me again, and look forward to seeing you again next time!
