Design Team - Jamie Rodgers Crafts Christmas Collection ~ A Christmas Eve By Ian Rump-Smith

Design Team - Jamie Rodgers Crafts Christmas Collection ~ A Christmas Eve By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania Blog

Happy Wednesday everyone....

I hope you've been enjoying using Jamie's NEW Christmas Collection and had fun creating!

Now being that I'm a little nosey lol, I've noticed that this die in particular has been very popular... so I thought I'd give you a few more ideas with today's make!

Super easy to make so let's get started....

Step 1

Take one of Jamie's new 8x8 Pebble Grey card blanks - a perfect size for this card!

Firstly I used Sue Wilson's Noble Double Stitched Squares Die Set and cut a large mat in

Raven Black Elite Card.

I then took one of the newly released Silver Circle Frames and cut out the centre.

✅ NOTE - These are available in gold and silver / circles and squares. See my Shopping List below.

✅ TIP - Save the centre as you can use this on another project later.

Set this aside and let's work on the black mat.

Step 2

Here you will need a smooth surface OR use the Make Art Stay-tion which is a fantastic tool (and my go to as you will have seen just lately). NOTE - Mine is a 12" however it is also available in a 7"

I placed my black mat down first, and then took the Snow Flurry Stencil and laid it level on top.

NOTE - We don't want to cover the border of the mat as this will be exposed, so I used low tack tape make a border around the stencil.

Now I wanted to use a paste that didn't take away the viewers eyes from the main design, so I used Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Glaze - Icy Smoke.

I used a palette knife to spread the paste evenly all over the stencil.

TIP - Remember to wash your stencil straight away so the paste don't dry hard.

This is what it will look like but be aware it will dry see through.

Step 3

While the background is drying, I went away and die cut out my Christmas Scene

I cut out two buildings in Raven Black Elite Card.

As this die cut has to be snipped, I left a longer bottom on one of the cuts.

I then went over the buildings lightly with Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish - Silver Dream.

Isn't the effect gorgeous :-)

(See Photo Below 📸)

I glued the smaller piece behind the large element, raising slightly above the fairground buildings.

Next I cut out Santa and reindeer (again in black card), and used this pen to give it a special sparkle!

Then using a white pen (or pencil), add highlights on the edges.

✅ QUICK CHEAT - To create your moon, use the centre of Jamie's Merry Christmas Circle Die Set. Any of Jamie's new Circle sentiments would also work nicely.

To colour, I used Distress Oxide Ink - Scattered Straw with a blending brush.

My Poinsettia is cut using the fabulous Polar White Elite Card and this die set.

I cut the thinner petals twice, and then glued them together, adding tiny silver gems for the centre.

Step 4

Let's put the card together.....

▪️Glue the black background to the front of your card base first.

▪️Turn over the white frame and glue your house to the bottom, using the tab. Check it before sticking it, to make sure you are happy with how it looks from the front.

▪️Using foam tape to apply the frame to the black layer.

✅ NOTE - Now you will see why we had to block the stencil covering the edges of the black mat.

▪️Next, glue your moon onto the I side of the frame, and then use black foam pads to add Santa to give some depth.

▪️Add your Poinsettia to the bottom right corner... and we have just the sentiments left to add.

For my "Here Comes Santa" I used Creative Expressions Wordies and "Happy Christmas" was cut from Jamie Rodgers Christmas Essentials Collection die set. (See my Shopping List below).

See... how easy was that card to make?

Thank you so much for reading my blog, have fun with thi project and don't forget, I'd love to see your ideas so be sure to share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Can't wait to see you all next week with another creation which I am working on :-)

Take Care
