Design Team - Jamie Rodgers Crafts Collection - In The Frame By Ian Rump-Smith

Hello Crafters..... great to be back with you!!

So we finally got our hands on Jamie Rodger Crafts Floral Wonder Collection :-)

Now the suspense is over, we can show you different projects you can create, as well as how they fit nicely with previously releases!!

One thing is for certain.... you will want to add these to your crafty stash lol!!

So this week I created something a little bit different... going into the realms of home decor with a simple, yet beautiful photo frame.

Great idea with winter coming along and of course Christmas and gift season :-)

Step 1

▪️Start by choosing a frame of any size - your choice.

▪️Here I've used an old frame with a mount board frame inside, which I've used as my front.

I'm sure most of us have old pictures, or you can purchase for just a few pounds.

📝 NOTE - Alternatively you can use plain mount board and cut the centre out yourself, to the size you want, using a ruler and craft knife.

▪️My frame measures 20½ cm x 25½ cm and I used a piece of grey board for my back panel in the same size.

TOP TIP

Customise - Create the colour frame you want by using Acrylic Paints or mediums such as Gesso as a base.

Step 2

▪️Next I stamped up my frame using the above Latin Script Stamp.

📝 NOTE - Note that this is a BIG DL Stamp which is perfect for projects like this as it doesn't take many presses to cover the frame.

🌟 THE MAGIC OF JAMIE'S DL STAMP COLLECTION

The magic of Jamie Rodgers Crafts DL Stamps is that they are designed to pattern match.

This enables you to stamp and easily extend the text background / pattern to make up any size - from small cards to creating your own wrapping paper :-)

🛒 TOP PICK

Now the preference to the way you stamp is totally up to you, however my tip is to work left to right.

Here I used a DL Stamping Block as it gives you to work with your DL stamp across different surfaces.

I've chosen to stamp with Pinecone Versafine Clair Ink Pad

I set my frame aside for later.

📝 NOTE - Make sure your script is straight or you will have wonky words. Take your time with this.

You may also notice that I have missed stamping in a couple of places - don't worry they will get covered later.

Step 3

Next I stamped up my corners and I used a A4 sheet of tan brown card.

I used the Jamie Rodgers Crafts Borders And Corners Stamp Set and Versafine Clair Sand Dune Ink Pad for my images.

To colour these I used Distress Oxide Inks in Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint.

I rubbed some onto a stamp block and added some water onto a brush and then coloured them all in.

I then cut these out with a slight bleed, using a craft knife.

Step 4

Taking the frame, I cut a piece of acetate about 1½" bigger than the inside of the frame.

Using double sided tape, I stuck the acetate onto the inside of the frame.

Then I used some 1mm Foam Tape around the inside and outer side of the frame.

📝 NOTE - Leave the room free of tape and also make sure it is the right way up, as you'll need to slide your photo in once finished.

Removing the backing tape... I then gently put the back panel onto my frame.

I then turned it over and proceeded to add my flower corners and borders with some Clear Drying Glue

Step 5

The last part is making the stand......

For this, I used a pencil and ruler to make my shape.

I gently scored the top part so I had a flexible hinge.

📝 NOTE - You need it to be about half the size of your frame height.

I used a scrap piece of grey board to create a little stability.

Using Ultra Sticky Double Sided Tape, I stuck this to my frame.

I found the centre point first and then let it just hang over the bottom edge before sticking it down.

Next I popped my photo into my frame... and this is

The photo needs to be kept snug because of the foam tape which is all around the inside of the frame.

I hope this will give you inspiration to try out this idea with a frame design of your own...

Now it's over to you... go have fun creating and I look forward to seeing your creations on our  Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Thank you for checking out my blog as always and I look forward to seeing you next time!

Keep warm and keep crafting.

take care.
