Hello Lovely Crafters.....
I was super excited to get my hands on Jamie Rodgers Forget Me Not - Floral Spray Stencil.... I love the larger size (8x8 inch) and the arrangement of butterflies and flowers. Gives you so much flexibility when designing both small and larger designs.
Step 1
Take the Forget Me Not - Floral Spray Stencil and emboss it on some Polar White Card in your die cutting machine, together with a rubber mat.
Then place the stencil back onto the embossed card in the same place, and stick down with some low tack tape.
Now apply the following Distress Oxide Inks using some of Lisa Hortons little stencil brushes to colour in the stencil design.
🛒 You can find all the products I've used at the bottom of this page in my Shopping List.
▪️Spun Sugar
▪️Tattered Rose
▪️Victorian Velvet
▪️Salvaged Patina
▪️Shaded Lilac
▪️Shabby Shutters
▪️Squeezed Lemonade
Just take it slowly and don’t worry if you cross over into the next flower as I did a couple of times - it happens lol!!
Next heat set the stencilled image
Now take some Crystal Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue and squeeze out onto your mat.
✅ TIP - Dab it over the flowers and the butterflies with your finger. It’s easier like this then you just get a light shimmer.
📸 You can see this finished piece in Picture 1.
Set aside.
Step 2
As a little added extra, (in Picture 2 📸 ) you can see that the stencil I used still has some inks left on it. Never a one for wasting an opportunity to play, I decided to spray it with water and then placed some watercolour card on top.
I got this lovely print off of it which I plan to use another time :-)
Step 3
Using Jamie Rodgers' Essentials Collection - cut out the following in Polar White Card
▪️Jamie Rodgers Sentiment Collection - Happy Birthday Circle Die
▪️Jamie Rodgers Creatures Of The World - Elegant Butterflies (one larger & one smaller).
Colour the sentiment with the Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide Ink and then dab on Rangers Stickles Crystal Glitter Glue. This will also help it to become stiffer and easier to cut out of the circle.
Then use the 3 pink inks (from the above) to colour the butterflies on both sides.
Again, sparkle them up with glitter glue as well (as seen in Picture 1 📸)
Step 4
Take an 8x8 card blank card and a piece of white card (slightly smaller) and blend around the edges of the piece of card with Distress Oxide Ink Spun Sugar (as seen in Picture 3 📸).
Now adhere it onto the card.
Next, trim your stencilled embossed sheet to mat onto the card - this is stuck straight on with glue.
The sentiment cut from the circle is now dry, so stick this onto the card as seen.
To finish, cut the head and tail off of the smaller butterfly and stick the wing part on top of the larger butterfly (as seen in Picture 4 📸).
Now shape and stick onto the card, adding some pearls along the body as you can see in the finished picture for those all important finishing touches :-)
I absolutely love that Jamie has added these bigger stencils to this beautiful Collection, and I have to say, I've particularly taken a shine to this one.....
Don't forget, I'd love to see your ideas so be sure to share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.
