Happy Saturday Crafters......

This week we have two gorgeous Spellbinders die sets to introduce to you!!

As well as these, you can find all the products used in the Shopping List at the bottom of the page :-)

So let’s get started....

Step 1

Making my flowers....

As with all of Susan Tierney Cockburn's flowers, I'd recommend you to watch her tutorial to help you on the right path....

Step 2

Ok so once you have watched the video, you can make your Peony’s

I made one large and one one bud, and a single flower. (See photo 📸)

📝 NOTE - You will see that it tells you on the dies how many you need of each to create a large flower. However I cut out 5 of each in order that I had enough to do what I wanted.

I cut my flowers from the above card pack, using 2 shades of the card!

I made them up as seen on the video - see photo below.📸

My leaves were cut from white card and coloured with Distress Oxide Ink Pads - Peeled Paint and Bundled Sage.

For the centre of the single flower, I coloured with Nova's Dual Tip Brush Pens in yellow.

Step 3

Making my card base.....

I took a white 7x7 card blank and cut it down to 16.2cm x 16.2 cm.

Next using Creative Expressions Noble Collection Double Pierced Squares, I cut one out in gold mirror card measuring 15.5cm x 15.5cm

Then I did another in white at 14cm x14 cm.

Next I matted these onto the card blank as seen and set aside.

Step 4

Next I used the Heartfelt Thanks Vignette Die Set.

📝NOTE - As you can see in the picture (which happens to be silver and white, and not gold) as I forgot to take a photo whilst I was creating lol.

So zoom in and cut out these pieces as seen (only in gold not silver if that’s your preference of course) plus a plain white back piece for the lid.

First I stuck the gold piece onto the plain white back piece.

The next white bit I stuck on with pads, before adhering the ornate pieces on each end of the white piece.

Step 5

Taking the gold oval sentiment, I carefully cut out the words "Heartfelt Thanks" and stuck them to the card base as seen📸

Then I took my oval ornate element and glued it onto the card base so it just covered the tip of the Heartfelt.

Now taking the large Peony and bud, I stuck these onto the oval with my Hot Glue Gun before tucking in the leaves.

I felt it needed something more.... so I made a gold bow and attached with hot glue - just below the Peony as seen ..

Step 6

Extra finishing touches make all the difference.....

Now we don’t want to squash this gorgeous flower in an envelope.... so I decided to make a box!!

I cut 2 pieces of white card 23.5cm x 23.5 cm, before scoring all round at 3cm.

Now as I’ve said before, I have a Scoreboard that has a lid Score one end and a base the other so you may need to make a small mm adjustment for the lid score I would try around 3.1 or 3.2 mm score.

I then burnished and trimmed the corners out and stuck them together as seen .

Next I cut another piece of gold using my Noble Double Pierced Square - this was 14x14 cm and stuck it on the box .

ADVICE - I cannot recommend the Noble Collection enough.... these are such an essential you use every day. A little investment but worth their weight in gold (so as to speak).

I then used some more of the beautiful gold ribbon (available in 3 colours) and went across the centre as seen, before sticking it on the inside of the lid.

Then I stuck the plain white back piece from the oval on top.

Now all I had left to do was to glue the single Peony and leaves on.... and it’s finished.

I am a huge fan of these flowers now, as they look so realistic and beautiful, and there are so many ways to use them.

Let me know how you get on ..... share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Have a great crafting week

Take care

Lynn x
