Design Team ~ Valentine By Lynn Lewis

Hello all

Today I have made a very simple Valentine’s Day card using Cosmic Shimmer products with a difference.....

Watch Jamie's video tutorial to see what he does with the recipes in this new Series.

Step 1

I started with a piece of silver mirri card and Creative Expressions Entwined Love Stencil which I secured onto my mat

I mixed up some Cosmic Shimmer Clear Texture Paste with Gran Perla Mineral Mica and

Black Onyx Glitterbitz which I spread over the stencil and left to dry.

Step 2

Next I cut out Creative Expressions Lattice Heart Blooms Die (without the lattice element in the middle). From Jamie Rodgers Sentiments Collection - Essentials 3 - I cut out Happy Valentine’s Day all in white card.

Step 3

When the stencil was dry, I took my Crystal Tints in Rose Quartz and proceeded to paint in random hearts with it.

You will notice that it shrunk back from the edges here, and left a slight stain on the hearts with a bright red where it pools and dries.

This wasn't the effect I was after, but I really liked it :-)

So where do I go with it?

Step 4

Out on a limb.... I decided to paint the white 'Heart blooms' die cut with the Rose Quartz and

Lime Peridot Crystal Tints using a fine paint brush.

I did about 2 to 3 coats to get the enamelled look I was after (as seen 📸).

When I was happy, I stuck this onto the centre of the stencilled Mirror Card which I trimmed

to 13.5cm x 13.5cm.

TIP - I laid mine with a flat non-stick sheet over it with a weight on top to ensure it was flat!

Step 5

Next I took some white ribbon and wrapped it across the bottom right corner, securing it behind.

I then matted the silver piece on top of some red card from Dovecrafts's Primary Card Pack before sticking it onto a white 6x6"card blank.

To finish....

I stuck the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment across the centre of the heart.

(I went for a bit of an angle however I'm not sure about it lol).

Then taking some small silver glitter gems, I stuck them on all the flower centres.

Finally I tied a small white bow and stuck it to the ribbon with hot glue.

Finished card size is just under a 15cm square.

As you can imagine, this was very difficult to capture in a photograph so I hope you can see ok.

I hope you like this as much as I do it was a bit of a experiment that I thought turned out ok.

We would love to see what recipes you have come up with by doing this 'mixing technique' of Jamie's, so don't forget to share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Have a great crafting week

Take care
