Designer Team - Life's A Beach By Ian Rump-Smith

Designer Team - Life's A Beach By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania Blog

Is it really Wednesday again?

Well how are all you Craftmanians today? Hope you’re doing plenty of crafting :-)

So this week's blog is a nice Summer card for a guy and can be made up for lots of occasions.

Step 1

I started with a base card of 8x8.”

Next I cut my backing paper - using a sheet from the Trimcraft Paper Pack and my square cutting dies.

I used double sided tape to stick onto my base card.

The paper I chose reminded me of mermaid / fish scales.

Step 2

Using the above die set - I cut out my shirt first from a sheet I chose (again from the Trimcraft paper pack). I also cut some extras to add a little dimension to my shirt.

I also added some little white pieces to my pocket and cuffs too.

These types of die sets, give you options to add so many little finishing touches and details!

Also in the pack are some leaves and sunglasses, so I cut some of these too.

The sentiment "Lifes A Beach" I cut from a spare piece from my shirt paper, the other pieces I used Dovecraft card.

I used a little Distress Oxide - Forest Moss on my leaves to give some added colour.

Step 3

I cut 2 strips of brown card 1 inch x 7 ¾ inches and added detail with my alcohol markers to make them look like bamboo. I attached these to the left side of my card.

Next I glued my sentiment to a piece of dark brown card and then cut it out.

Using foam pads, I added it to my bamboo poles.

I then started to add my leaves using wet glue to the poles.

Step 4

Using foam tape again, I attached my shirt to my card and added the sunglasses.

Finally I cut out the sentiment shown below another in yellow and black card.

I glued the yellow on top of the black, slightly offset and attached to my card

That's it! A nice easy make again and perfect for a man I to his bright shirts.

Hope you like my card and will give it a go.

Thanks all for checking out my blog and appreciate your support as always.

Have a fab week and keep crafting!

Take care
