Everyone loves gilding flakes, they are quite magical and a pot lasts ages plus there are so many different colour mixes, and you can do so much with them.…I’m sold lol. If you haven’t used them before, Jamie's recent card making kit tutorial on YouTube shows a good example. So I soon had the sticky A4 sheet on a piece of card and die cut the smaller and plain Spiral Pearl flowers from the bundle and a plain centre piece from the St Lucia die set. I also cut some of the flowers in plain white card and the St Lucia outer spiky bit plus the patterned centre and the small oval piece. Next I got a 6x6 card and made a pencil line across the middle with a ruler and placed red liner tape from the line to the bottom of the card leaving a gap the same size as the tape between. Then peel the red off and place a bit straight across these to cover the edges. At this point I placed it in a tray as it keeps the gilding flakes contained lol. Tip a bit of the gilding flakes out of the jar and press on to the tape lines and gently rub with your applicator sponge taking care not to rub too hard near the bottom and pull the tape up, adding more flakes if you need them. Then peel the paper off the sticky bits and do the same with the flowers and the plain centre bit for the St Lucia die . Next, with a quickie glue pen and the spiky bit of the St Lucia die put a spot of the glue on each spike on the top half of the die, let dry slightly then gently add the gilding flakes to it. Now take your card and glue the spiky bit in the centre then place the patterned piece on the gilded plain bit and foam pad onto the middle of the St Lucia die cut. Shape and glue the flowers white on gold -gold on white and stick them round the St Lucia die and place gold gems in the centres. Lastly, stamp the sentiment ‘Best of Luck’ in the centre of the oval die cut with a versa mark pad and heat emboss with cosmic shimmer Brilliant sparkle white gold embossing powder, I think next time I would use a more detailed embossing powder, this one was a bit glittery for such a small sentiment and you don’t notice until you’ve taken a picture. Have fun with these magical flakes….they have endless uses :))
