Hi Lovely Crafters,
I hope you’ve all had a good week and WOW what a great week it’s been!!
The Hand Picked By Jamie Bundle was launched on Monday, and it’s absolutely amazing - I love it :-)
So, after Ian’s gorgeous card from Wednesday, I’ve had a little play with Sue Wilson Festive Frames Twas The Night Die, plus the Santa Key from this months' Bundle.
You can find a shopping list for this card, at the bottom of the page...
So to begin with, you will need a piece of white card to cut out the Christmas tree and the decorations (but not the backing piece). You can colour and decorate this as you wish.
I used my Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering Water Colour Paint Palette (Set 7 - Christmas), plus some glitter pens, pearls and gems from my stash.
Next you will need a 7x7" White Card Blank and Woodware's Jane Gills Bubble Top Tiles Square Die Set. Use this to cut out the window in the centre front of this card blank without using the outer die. Also cut out a window frame separately in white card with the outer die.
Now, using your Tea Dye Distress Ink Pad, colour the separate window frame with it and stamp over it with Francoise Read's Woodware Wood Panel Stamp using your Memento Rich Cocoa Ink Pad.
You can of course leave the frame white, or colour it with the ink.... which ever your prefer!
I cannot take all the credit for the wooden frame; my very good friend Wendy gave me the idea whilst she was discussing her next scrapbook page - otherwise mine would have just been Distress Ink :-)
Next, take your Creative Expressions Brick Wall Stencil, and with the Fired Brick Distress Ink Pad and a blending brush, make a couple of complete stencils on a piece of scrap white card. Once you have done this, go over it with your Distress Ink in Tea Dye.
You will then need to cut these out as I have or however you wish. They are just there to create an authentic effect to look like the front of a house.
Stick these on, then get the "wooden look" window frame and stick this on top of the white one on top the card front. This helps to reinforce it.
Now get a sheet of the Silk Mirror Gold Card and cut this to fit the inside back of the card, and attach it. Next, stick some pads on the back of your ‘‘Twas The Night Die" you coloured in earlier and just snip some up to fit.
TIP - Use your glue as well, so you don’t pull the small ones off when taking the paper off.
Line this up behind the window so the edge of the tree is on the edge of the window then stick this on the Silk Mirror Gold Card inside the back.
For the next step, take a key from your Hand Picked By Jamie Bundle, and with a Versamark Ink Pad, push this onto the key and sprinkle with Cosmic Shimmer Detail Gold Embossing Powder and use your heat tool to set.
Now, attach a red bow with glue (or hot glue if you’re impatient like me), and stick the key to the top right of your card.
To finish cut out your sentiment “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas” from Sue Wilson's die set also in the Silk Mirror Gold Card and place it at the bottom of the card.
I hope you enjoy creating this card as much as I did... it really isn’t as difficult as it looks.
Please don't forget to share your makes in our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania and Jamie Rodgers if you’ve made something with the Bundles we would love to se .
Have a lovely week
Lynn :-))
Wow this is stunning Lynn you certainly tell a lot of work has gone into this.
Wow another fantastic card and blog! This kit definitely keeps you busy!
I am loving this card, I will get my act together and have a go at it, something along this line could be my special cards this year.
Thank you for sharing it
This card really turned out well. The wooden window looks so good and was happy that you took my idea and used it. That's what crafting is all about sharing ideas and helping others. Xx
This is really clever I would never had thought of doing this thanks for the ideas .
