Hand Picked By Jamie ~ June Bundle All That Glitters By Lynn Lewis

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

Gold Sparkle Christmas card designed with Sue Wilson Scalloped Celebration Die | Craftmania

Phew wasn’t it hot yesterday!

A very nice change, but we had to go for a walk along the sea wall to get a cool down which was nice.

It seems very odd making Christmas cards whilst there is a heatwave making it very hard to get motivated. However, hopefully you will be grabbing plenty of inspiration from Jamie Rodgers new Bundle samples ..... I know there’s a few there I will be making :-)

So with this card, as I had already got this 8x8 front cut out from May's Bundle and using Sue Wilson's Dotty Scallop Celebration Die, I decided to sparkle it up!

Using the A4 Double Sided Adhesive Sheets and Cosmic Shimmer Holographic Glitterbitz (Golden Haze) and stuck this behind the die cut out and then applied the glitter to the front.

Once that was done, I reinforced the back with white card as I find sometimes that my cutting machine can stretch the card slightly and this helps to flatten it.

Next I cut out Sue Wilson's Hayley Holly Die several times to create a layering effect.

▪️One in plain red Pearlised card for the background

▪️One outline holly in gold non shedding glitter card (or mirror will also work)

▪️One in green Pearl card, however this time keeping the leaf bits instead of the outline and a centre piece in gold .

First of all I glued the gold outline to the red background, and started to piece in the green leaves once they were in the right places. I then glued them in place and stuck the centre on with pads, finely cut up to fit.

I then adorned with red gems, and placed it in the centre of the glittery background with pads.

If I had thought of it at the time, I would have stuck a gold frame round the background, but it is one of those after thoughts to do next time :))

Next ~ with the 'Pine and Holly Spray Die' from Sue Wilson's Festive Collection,

I cut out the holly leaves (big and small plus pine cones) in Gold mirror card and arranged some in the corner with glue then added red gems.

My sentiment was from the Woodware Stamps in the Bundle, I stamped out with Versamark and Cosmic Shimmer Brilliant Sparkle “White Gold” Embossing Powder matted onto gold card, and placed in the top corner with pads. I then stuck some of the small holly leaves into the sides.

To finish, I made a bow with wired ribbon from my own stash, which holds its' own shape.

I then used a glue gun (hot glue) to carefully glue the tails down.

If you’re not confident to cut directly from a card front, then just cut it out separately and do the same as above, and then stick it on the card. You could even mat it onto gold too for added layers.

Enjoy :))
