Welcome to my latest Blog Post for June's Hand Picked By Jamie Bundle
I tried so hard to get a picture of this Card where all the panels were the right colour and level, but the light was having none of it. Glittery and shiny card is challenging to photograph in my home.
I haven’t used the Metallic Bakers Twine or the Mini Stencil from this months' Bundle yet, and to be honest, I was so excited with all the other items I had forgotten.
So this time, I have decided to make a card that looks like a Christmas parcel. This is really easy to make, especially if you have already been playing with the Stencils and prepared them in advance.
You will need :-
Creative Expressions Mini Stencil - Ornamental Holly Stencil
I stencilled two of each onto a non-shedding Silver Card (Mirror Card would also work).
Once these were dry, I cut them out (keeping close to the edges) and repeated this with a piece of red card to create my matting and layering. These were then trimmed with corner punches.
I then stuck these together with pads and set aside.
Please excuse my dodgy stencilling - I am still a "work in progress" with it lol.
For my next step, I cut pieces of silver and red card to mat onto an 8x8 Card Blank.
Firstly, I stuck the silver onto the red with adhesive pads, then with a length of the Silver Bakers Twine, I doubled up.
I tied it round the square like a parcel to secure on the back, then I stuck this onto the my blank card.
The stencilled pieces were then stuck on with adhesive pads in each quarter.
To create my greetings tag, I stamped 'Happy Christmas' from the Woodware Christmas Sentiment Stamp Set in Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink on white card, and then matted it with silver and red card. I left a bit of room at the top to punch a hole.
I then made a bow with double strands of the twine and used a small amount of hot glue in the centre at the the top of the card and placed the greeting so it was positioned to one side and stuck the bow on the tag before the glue set.
To finish I used red and green gems for extra detail.
I feel I should be saying “Merry Christmas” to you all, but it is only June lol :-)
Happy Crafting and please don't forget to share your makes with us on our Facebook Group
