Happy Wednesday Crafters!

Welcome to my first Blog with the NEW November Hand Picked By Jamie Bundle!!

So have you all managed to get your November bundle of Hand Picked by Jamie?

Wow!!! Another superb Bundle full of crafting goodness :-)

Here is today's card which we are going to make!!

I was inspired by a movie I watched recently, called Mrs Harris Goes To Paris and has a real 50's feel to it....

As always, you can find the Shopping List for this project at the end of the Blog.....

From Paris With Love By Ian Rump-Smith - Jamie Rodgers Blog | Craftmania

So lets' get started.... I think you will enjoy this one!!

To begin with, I used an 8x8" White Card Blank for the base.

I then measured out a sheet of dark grey card / paper (to create my matting and layering) which I stuck to my card base with Double Sided Tape. Here I left space to create a white border.

I then chose a sheet from the Touch of Romance Paper Pad, which is going to sit on top of the grey.

I picked out a pink patterned paper, and using the Woodware Paris Postcard Stamp on a Stamping Block, and Versafine Clare Morning Mist Ink Pad, I stamped random images over the paper.

  • TOP TIP - To get the best effect, make sure you stamp you image off the edge of the page, as you can see in my photo above.

Next, slice approximately 3mm off of the right, and bottom of the paper, before sticking it to your card.

Now let's add some bling to make our card really stand out....

I cut two strips off of the Pink Mesh Sheet (from the Bundle). Add a thin line of Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue to the top and bottom of the card, and lay the strips directly on top, and lightly press down. Set the card aside.

  • TOP TIP - I highly recommend the Woodware Ultra Fine Glue Applicator Bottles, for precision and control, as you only need a small amount of glue with the mesh.

Next you will need Creative Expressions Ornate Octagon Striplets Die Set from November's Bundle, and Creative Expressions Triple Layer Dragonfly and Finishing Touches Petite Dianthus Die Sets from October's Bundle.

STRIPLET DIE : Cut two of the base in white. Colour one with Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Hickory Smoke, and the other using Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Saltwater Taffy.

Using a Blending Brush, run this one through with the top layer die.

DRAGONFLY DIE : Cut the solid layer in Silver Mirror Card, the middle layer in grey card, and the top layer in pink. (Here I used coloured card but you can use white and colour with the inks if desired).

PETITE DIANTHUS FLOWER DIE : Take some white card and colour with both shades of Distress Oxide Inks. You need three pink and two grey, in TWO sizes of flowers dies.

Cut two flourishes in Silver Mirror Card.

Once you have done this, glue and assemble all die cuts and set aside.

Now it's time to get creative and try out the new Media Gloss Sprays.....

I have chosen the colours Heather and Aloe. These give such great effects at the touch of a spray, and particularly on glossy card, which is what I have found is best for what I wanted here.

So using your Nesting Circle Dies, cut one out in grey card, and another in glossy white card, in next size down. Taking the white die cut, use your Distress Oxide Ink with a Blending Brush, and ink the outside of the circle. No need to do it all over, as you will be covering it up.

  • TOP TIP - When you use your Media Gloss Sprays, you will need a safe and protected area to work. Creative Expressions do a "Spray Station" which is perfect for mixed media projects like this. I will pop it below for you!

Give a couple of small squirts of each colour and let it dry, which should be only a matter of a few minutes. Once dried, glue this on top of the grey circle.

Moving on to our sentiment... I've chosen Sue Wilson's Mini Expressions Die - You Make Me Happy.

For this, I coloured a small piece of white card with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink, and then ran the die through on this.

Now let's construct the card... use my photo above as a reference.

I have used Foam Pads on the panel, circle and dragonfly just to give them some depth.

Once assembled, I used Cosmic Shimmer 3D Glue Vintage Pink in the centre of the flowers and some white pearls on the panel.

Hope you have enjoyed my Blog for this week, and will have a go at making it.

As always, we love to see your creations, which you can share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Have a fantastic week and I look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday.

Take care

Ian x
