Hand Picked By Jamie ~ October Bundle - Into The Blues By Lynn Lewis

Into The Blues By Lynn Lewis - October Hand Picked By Jamie | Craftmania

Happy Saturday Folks....

Super excited.... today we are going to get our cans of shaving foam out lol.

Jamie’s loves to demonstrate with this technique, and although I don’t use it often enough, it makes a terrific background to dragonflies :-)

Learn how to do the Shaving Foam Technique on Jamie's YouTube Channel in this video tutorial - Jamie Rodgers Top Tip ~ Shaving Foam Technique With Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Sparkles

You will need :-

  • Tray / Plastic Tub / Container

  • Shaving Foam

  • Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Sparkles

  • Wooden Stick (eg. a wooden kebab stick, lolly stick or coffee stirrer is perfect)

  • A4 White Card

  • Old Loyalty Card or Plastic Ruler

So with our shaving foam already sprayed into a tray, tap some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Sparkles

into it. Here I've used Green Bay, Teal Marine and Beyond Blue.

Spray a little water on top to activate the Pixies and then swirl it around using a wooden stick.

Then take a sheet of white card and press it into the foam, and as you remove it, scrape off the foam with one of those old loyalty cards you don’t use anymore. Create two sheets of card.

  • TOP TIP - Whilst the shaving foam is fresh, create as many backgrounds as you can, as you will be able to keep these for future projects :-)

It was difficult to capture in this photograph, but I was quite impressed with the dried sheets which had a beautiful sparkly finish to them.

When you’re happy that your sheets are dry, cut out one with Creative Expressions Noble Pierced Squares. You will need the dies - third size down from the largest, and also with the second smallest. Die cut out another shaving foam square. Whilst you are there, cut out the two largest dies from the Noble Pierced Squares in white card and set aside.

For the next step, take the top die from the Triple Layered Dragonfly Die and cut out twice using your shaving foam sheets. Then with the middle die, cut twice using white card. Finally, I used the bottom die to cut one in Blue Metallic Card and the other in Green Metallic Card

Using White Linen Card, cut out the top die from Creative Expressions Layering Elsa Background Die.

Now, take your largest white Noble Pierced Square (which you cut out earlier) and distress around the edges with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. Stick this onto an 8x8 White Card Blank

For your next mat and layer, stick the next size down white square on top of this.

Now take your your large shaving foam pierced square and lightly distress the edges with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Stick this on top of the white one.

For the next part, take your white linen Elsa die cut and stick this on the top left hand side of the shaving foam square facing you.

Now take your two dragonflies, and colour the middle layers with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

Once you are happy, assemble the layers with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue and add some Woodware Foam Tape to the underside of the body shape to give dimension, and stick to the card as seen.

For the final step, take the smallest square from the shaving foam sheets, and again distress those edges with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

Using the Stamp set from the Bundle, stamp out your sentiment, ‘Take Care Of You The Rest Can Wait’ on white card, with Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink Leaf Green.

Stick this at an angle with Foam Pads on top of the small shaving foam square. Then again using Foam Pads, stick the whole sentiment to the card.

For the finishing touches, add pale blue gems to the Elsa panel - in the corners, to the sentiment and two bigger clear gems on the dragonflies.

Now all you have to do is send it to someone who needs it :-)

Love the dragonflies in blue . A beautiful card I for one would have loved to just receive a card for no reason but to say you are thinking of the person
