Jamie Rodgers Fairy Wishes Collection - Make A Wish By Ian Rump-Smith

Welcome to my new blog Crafters....

I can't wait to share my latest make using Jamie Rodgers' Fairy Wishes Collection... if you've got this already, then I'm sure you'll understand why :-)

Step 1

Today I am using a C5 white card blank (spine on short side).

▪️Taking your Presscut Rectangle Dies / or Creative Expressions Stitched Rectangles, make a black mat and then a white just slightly smaller.

▪️I then took my white mat and coloured it using Distress Oxide Inks in the following colours :-

➡️ Speckled Egg

➡️ Stormy Sky

➡️ Tumbled Glass

➡️ Mowed Lawn

TIP - Here I am using Blending Brushes as I find these are the best for creating a realistic sky effect!

▪️For the grass (see 📸 below) - I created the edge effect of the grass using a torn piece of copy paper so you have a rough edge. If you've got a Deckle Edge Ruler, that would be perfect!

▪️I glued the layers onto my card base and then trimmed off the end.

Step 2

My next step was to make all of my die cuts.

▪️The first set I used was Creative Expressions Finishing Touches Button Flower.... this is beautiful to work with....

▪️I cut out the layers of the main flowers in white card. I cut randomly cut these in order that there were different layers to each flower.

▪️I added colour to these using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink.

▪️Using a Woodware Blending Smoothie, I used different pressures with the ink to create light and dark petals. I then glued them together using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.

▪️I also wanted some bud stems from this set in white, and this time I used Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink together with the Worn Lipstick to colour.

▪️I used glitter card with the die in the set of the tiny circles for the flower centres and buds.

I added dimension and shape to the flowers using an Embossing Tool and mat

Step 3

Next I used Jamie Rodgers Fairy Wishes Deckled Edged Blossoms Die Set for flowers which will sit along the top of my card..

▪️I cut 6 smallest petals, 3 Stamens and 5 of the foliage all in white card.

I coloured the petals with Dusty Concord Distress Oxide Ink, the stamens with Mustard Seed and foliage with Forest Moss.

▪️Again emboss and shape all to give dimension.....

Step 4

Using the Fairy Wishes Starry Angela Die Set, cut out the fairy in white card.

Here I have used my Nova Dual Tip Brush Pens along with my Oakwood Glitter Pen in Apple Green for her dress.

Step 5

▪️Create your "Make A Wish" sentiment from this die set with Silver Mirror Card... I wanted it to be subtle, but stand out from my colours!

Now it was time to build the scene on my card front.....

▪️I used my Woodware Ultra Fine Tip Glue Applicator to glue all of my pieces onto the card front. And that is my card completed.....

I hope you'll have a go at making this card and share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers

Thanks for joining me guys and until next time.

Take care
