Jamie Rodgers Fairy Wishes Collection ~ Angela’s Garden By Lynn Lewis

Jamie Rodgers Fairy Wishes Collection ~ Angela’s Garden By Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Hi Crafters.

Today I thought I would show you how much fun the Craft Artists Gold/Pearl Fusion Ink pads are.

In fact, this whole card has been created using them.... with a little addition of Twinkles of course lol.

Ink pads are not just for stamping you know :-)

Step 1

▪️Cut out the fairy "Starry Angela" from the Fairy Wishes collection - including her wand in white card. Using the same card, cut out the Enchanted Lattice (as well as the backing piece).

Also add some Deckled Edge Flowers and foliage, plus the Entwined Rose Border die .

Step 2

▪️Prepare the background using the Blossoming Branch stencil with Holly Gold Fusion Ink Pad for the leaves and branches, and then Dragonfruit Gold Fusion Ink Pad for the blossoms.

I’m the first to admit that I'm not the greatest at stencilling, however I'm still pleased with how this has turned out!!

You will find these inks show their colours better once they have dried.

When this is done trim around it neatly with a paper trimmer.

Step 3

▪️Make a frame to go over your background; here I've used a piece which I had previously cut a square out of with Sue Wilson's Noble Double Stitched Squares Die Set.

I trimmed it round to fit my background.

TOP TIP - It’s always a good idea to keep hold of waste bits from noble dies for this purpose.

▪️Colour this frame using the Ultramarine Violet Pearl Fusion Ink Pad with a Blending Brush.

Stick this frame onto your background using foam roll / tape.

▪️Next take your Enchanted Lattice and colour it (the same as the frame), including the back piece. Then stick those together and adhere them on top of the frame.

Step 4

Colouring Your Fairy....

I used a paint brush for the intricate detail here... then just went for it.

▪️I did her hair with Alizarin Crimson, her dress is Passionfruit and then her face and body with Luna.

▪️I mixed it up for the wings - I backed them with Bright White Vellum, her wand is coloured with Hansa Yellow Deep

▪️I stuck foam pads behind her where they would touch the background, and glued where she is stuck to the Enchanted Lattice as shown.

Step 5

▪️I coloured all the deckled edge flower layers (both sides) with Dragonfruit Gold Fusion Ink.

The centres are Passionfruit and the leaves are Holly.

These are just stunning to work with as you can see :-)

▪️For the Entwined Rose Border - colour the leaves and branches with Holly using a small paint brush, followed by the roses in Dragonfruit as with the flowers.

You can stick this border along the top frame as seen 📸

▪️Make up your flowers by shaping them how you wish.

I made three different size flowers for the right, and then I made a little bud for the left.

These were then glued in place with foliage stuck in around them.

Step 6

To finish....

▪️I used a the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Fairy Wishes Collection which I coloured using Dragonfruit.

▪️I then stuck it using the same method as the fairy, with foam pads behind.

It's glued on the background and then glued onto the frame and under the fairy’s hand.

▪️Stick the wand into her lower hand as she’s pointing out the happy birthday with the other.

Use a white 7x7 card blank and stick the whole thing onto the card - tent fold.

▪️You can now leave that as finished or if like me, add some Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles - Aurora.

I put some around the Enchanted Lattice top and in the flower centres as well as the foliage and around the sentiment back.

I just love - love - love how Aurora picks up the colour it’s on.

So you're finished.... you can now appreciate how beautiful the colours are with gold tints in them, as well as the pearl effects on the lattice. It really catches the light, but you really have to see them to believe it.

I highly recommend the Fusion Ink Pads, well worth the treat, they are a dream to work with - truly enchanting :-)
