Jamie Rodgers' Pierced Collection ~ Daisy Chain By Lynn Lewis

Jamie Rodgers' Pierced Collection ~ Daisy Chain By Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Hello Craft Mates.....

Today I am making another card using Jamie Rodgers' Pierced Collection, plus the Wing Of Wonder Collection, and adding colour with Cosmic Shimmer - Shimmer Shakers!

These are one of my personal favourites at the moment, so if you haven't come across them yet, you are in for a treat :-)

▪️To begin, cut out the Moroccan Scalloped Lattice Background Die from the Wings Of Wonder Collection, in white card.

▪️Next take Sue Wilson's Noble Double Stitched Circle Die Set and cut out, again in white card.

(You need one which will fit the Moroccan Lattice Square Background, plus two of the

Delicate Butterflies from the Pierced Collection. You will also need a frame that will fit over the circle you’ve just cut out using the Noble Double Stitched Circles Die.

📝 You will also need to cut out :-

🔹 20 of the small daisies

🔹 small centres

🔹10 of the smaller leaves from the Pierced Collection

TOP TIP

It can get a tedious cutting out 20 daisies and all the little details above, so to save yourself some leg work, whenever you die cut anything, add an additional daisy / flower or leaf to your cutting plate and run them through together. Pop them into a resealable bag that you can add to, and keep your supply!

🚨 Always check your machines' instructions before putting through multiple dies, and never force

▪️Take your large double stitched circle, along with your Shimmer Shakers in Purple Paradise -Delicate Blossom, Lush Pink and Vintage Gold.

▪️Shake a small amount of each into a paint pallet, and with a wet wide brush sweep these across your circle with the colours. Then sweep over all of them with the vintage gold (well diluted).

Now do the same with the frame, and then set these aside to dry.

▪️Next take your butterflies and paint these the same, but painting one using Purple Paradise and the other in the Lush Pink. Once done, go around the edges with gold.

Again using Shimmer Shakers - paint your flower centres with Tangy Tangerine, and do your leaves with Lime Burst. I always do both sides of leaves, before setting aside to dry.

▪️Next, take a sheet of heatable Vellum, and use a Deckled Edged Ruler to tear a piece out the width of the ruler so it’s deckled edged both sides.

▪️Use Jamie Rodgers "Dream"' from his Moments In Time Stamp Set to stamp onto your vellum using a VersaMark Ink Pad and gold embossing powder.

Make sure you use a Woodware Magic Anti-Static Pad on vellum first, as the powder clings on so easy.

▪️Stick your butterflies together along the bodies ~ I like to use two to give volume before sticking the little antenna on the head at the back.

▪️Now glue all of your daisies together; two to a flower and the centres in the middle.

We are now ready to put this all together.

▪️Take your painted circle and your Moroccan Lattice Background, and adhere the background on top of the circle - don’t worry if it doesn’t fit.

Now trim off the square corners and then stick the circular frame on top which covers up all the bits you don’t want to see :-)

▪️Next, stick your vellum piece across the centre with "Dream" on the inner edge of the circle.

Stick this onto the back, and then stick this whole circle onto a 6x6 card blank.

▪️Take your daisies and leaves now, and stick them alternating between each other all the way around the circle.

TOP TIP - If you find the vellum is not adhering, just pop a blob of glue underneath it in a few places you know won’t be seen, because other bits will be on top of it. This is also where Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue is perfect for the job!!

▪️To finish, stick the butterfly at an angle across the vellum.

Here I stuck mine so that it was glued to the actual circle itself, so it kept the vellum down.

In the centre of the butterfly, I found some pearls which I stuck along the body....

I hope you like this little card, as you can see it's a wonderful Collection to work with and so many ideas can be made from it. Please do share your ideas, creations and if you have any questions on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Until next time

Take care & best wishes,

Lynn x
