Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ Delft Blue By Lynn Lewis

Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ Delft Blue By Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Hello Crafters....

Today I felt in the mood for blue... so I'm back with this card featuring Nellie Snellen's Windmill - Idyllic Floral Scenes Clear Stamp.

My inspiration came from a programme I was watching a few evenings ago, where they showed some lovely Dutch Delft Blue pottery!! It's amazing what can trigger your creative mind!!

So let’s begin this beautiful, yet simple card to make....

▪️Take an A4 sheet of white card and fold it in half, burnishing the crease with a Bone Folder.

▪️Then take a sheet of Midnight Blue Maya Card; cut and stick this onto your card blank which you have just created.

I highly recommend Maya Card - it's extremely good quality, and great value for money (available in various pack sizes and single sheets too).

▪️Next using Jamie Rodgers' Tranquil Garden 8x8 Paper Pad, select the sheet of paper with the blue roses. Mat this on top of the Midnight Blue card.

▪️Using the same blue card, take Sue Wilson's Floral Vines 3D Embossing Folder run through your die cutting machine.

Now cut and trim it to fit halfway across the card, and tie a piece of white ribbon around the middle lengthways. Stick this onto your card as seen here in my photo.

▪️Next take a sheet of white card and trim down, so it’s just large enough for you to stamp the Windmill on.

For this, I've used my Stamping Platform to centre my stamp, and chosen Danube blue Memento Teardrop Ink Pad.

▪️Now mat and layer this with the blue and white card.

Stick onto your card with foam pads - if you prefer you can of course keep it flat for posting!

▪️Now let’s finish by cutting out our "Husband" sentiment from Jamie Rodgers Sentiment Die Collection - Male Relatives Set and glue onto your card.

AND there you have a very nice simple card to make, but very effective!

I hope you've enjoyed having a go at this card. Do experiment with your designs and try out different embossing folders / papers.

Thank you for joining me today.

Until next time

Lynn x
