Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ Picture Postcard By Ian Rump -Smith

Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ Picture Postcard By Ian Rump -Smith | Craftmania

Hello :-)

Are we ready for another tutorial? It's that time again for this bright holiday card.....

▪️You will need a 7x5" white card base for this, along with Nellie Snellen's Sea with Lighthouse Stamp - part of the Idyllic Scenes Collection.

▪️Cut a rectangle for your border using Presscut's Plain Rectangles Die Set and gold card measuring approx. 6.5 x 4.5 inches.

▪️Take a sheet of Foundations Coconut White Card and out cut two more rectangles - using the 6.25 x 4.25" die. One will be for your stamped image, and the other will be your frame.

▪️Use a die 2 down from previous and centralise it on one of the white panels.

Use low tack tape (such as Woodware Stencil Tape or Washi Tape) to secure when running through your die cutting machine.

Save the middle cut for another project and ideal to stamp your next Nellie stamp on!

▪️Take your Sea With Lighthouse Stamp, along with a Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink Pad.

Using a stamping block or platform, ink up your stamp and then push down onto your white panel. Hold for a few seconds to let the ink soak onto your card, and then gently take it off.

The detail of this stamp is just beautiful!

▪️Now I've been trying all different types of mediums for my 'Nellie' samples, and this one was just asking me to use my Tim Holtz Distress Water Colour Pencils.

These are just so easy to use and give such a subtle result.

You can of course use your own mediums, however if you can invest in these pencils, I would highly recommend it... also great as they match the Distress Oxide Inks colours so they can be used to complement each other!

▪️Once finished, I then added my frame to my painted image and used some small foam pads to give it a raised effect.

Glue the gold layer to your card and centralise. Now glue the frame to the gold layer.

This is when the card reminded me of a 60's postcard :-)

Well that's me for now, so I hope you've enjoyed this simple blog today and will give it a go.... the Craftmania Team love seeing all your work. Share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Have a great week and be back very soon.

Take care

Ian x
