Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ White Winter By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania

Hello Crafters!

Great to be back with you.... we hope you are we loving the NEW Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight? These stamps have really inspired me to try out my painting skills which I find rather therapeutic, so give it a go.....

I have decided to create a Christmas card with Nellie Snellen's Winter Cabin Stamp, however depending on your choice of colours, it could also be a Summer image too!

▪️I started with a 7x5" card base and chose a landscape design.

▪️Next using black card, create a mat and layer using Presscut's Rectangle Plain Nesting Die Set

▪️To create my Matt and layering, I then used cut black card using Presscut's Nesting Dies - Plain Rectangles. I then cut another mat, using the next size down in the die set, but this time in white card.

▪️Using a Blending Brush and a Versa Clair Nocturne Ink Pad, I gently brushed around the edges of the white mat. This gives an almost marble effect to the card if done subtle enough.

Glue this onto the black mat and then glue the layers onto your base card.

▪️Next I took Jamie Rodgers' Square Canvas Die Set and this out twice in white.

I used a stamping block to stamp the image in two different sections of the design, using Nellie Snellen's Winter Cabin Stamp. Again I used the Nocturne Ink Pad which gives a nice soft appearance which is best because the stamp is so detailed.

✅ To make each Canvas up, you will need to score along the ready made score lines using a Bone Folder Tool. To glue these flaps together, and get the best results, I would highly recommend using either paper clips or Woodware's Mini Pegs (as demonstrated by Jamie).

See my photo on gluing below.

▪️Depending on which glue you are using, leave to dry for approx 10 minutes, If you are using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue, it may be a little quicker and remember not to leave your pegs in place too long.

▪️Once dry, use Ultra Sticky Double Sided Red Liner Tape (available in different sizes) to go around the underside of the canvas. Now position them both centrally on the card with a gap inbetween them.

See original photo for guidance

▪️For the sentiment, I used Creative Expressions Shadowed Mini Expressions - Season's Greetings in black card and silver mirri. Centralise these top and bottom centre.

To finish off, I added some Christmas foliage in white to the corners.

There we go.... an easy card to start off your Christmas card makes.....

Thanks for joining me, have a fantastic week and remember to share you card creations with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Best wishes, Ian x
