Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ Winter Cabin By Lynn Lewis

Nellie Snellen Design Team Spotlight ~ Winter Cabin By Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Hello Craft-mates......

I'm on a roll with Nellie Snellen's Stamps, and today I've created a card using the

Wintery Cabin Stamp.

To begin.....

▪️Take a sheet of black card and cut to the size you want for the stamp.

Tip your card with your Woodware Magic Anti-Static Pad and then take a VersaMark Ink Pad and stamp it out.

▪️Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Detailed White Embossing Powder.

TIP - Do I Really Need A Woodware Anti-Static Pad?

YES :-). The Pad prepares your surface prior to stamping and heat embossing.

It will eliminate the static that causes embossing powders to cling to unwanted parts of your image resulting in a crisp finish!

Painting & Colours

▪️You can leave it like that if you wish... however I decided to use Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering Watercolour Paints. (These are amazing to work with and the colours are truly breathtaking in real life - hard to capture on a photo).

▪️I used - Christmas (Set 7) and Decadent & Precious Metals (Set 10).

➡️ I used the Decadent Bamboo for the houses - from Set 10

➡️ I used the silvers and greens for the trees and snow bits from Set 7

Just paint over the embossed areas and then dab with a tissue.

▪️Now for the real fun part...using the white, load up a small brush and flick over the picture.

This gives the impression that it is snowing :-)

▪️Next we need to make the frame using Sue Wilson's Noble Collection - Decorative Squared Rectangles Die Set and Double Stitched Rectangles (Set B).

▪️Cut out your frame it will make the picture a little smaller, but it doesn’t matter.

I've used Craftmania's Frosted Silver Foil Card ( I personally prefer it to mirror card for wintery pictures).

▪️Trim down your picture, as we don't want to see it through the frame squares.

Then glue your frame on top. Next mat this with red card as seen.

▪️Now take an 8x8 card blank and mat this with Antique Green Maya Card.

Stick your framed piece on top, leaving enough space at the bottom for your sentiment.

▪️The sentiment is taken from Jamie Rodgers Pierced Collection - "Let it Snow" Die Set

The back is cut in Frosted Silver Foil Card and the words in red and green. I've shadowed them and stuck onto the back piece. Now stick this onto your card using the squares to centre it up.

▪️To finish, I've again used Jamie's Pierced Collection - Elegant Poinsettia Die.

I've cut this out of white Vellum, shaped and then glued it together.

For the finishing touches, I've glued it onto the card as seen, and added a clear gem in the centre.

I quite like how the silver paints make gives the effect of frozen snow......

Thank you for all your views and comments, and please share with us if you try these for yourself - we would love to see them on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Until next time

Take care
