Tropical Reveal Card By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania Blog

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to face the New Year head on!

I thought let's get all warm with a tropical card to take your mind of the cold weather.

If you got your hands on Craftmania's "Mystery Christmas Bundle" you will have most likely got some of the products I have used for this project.

Step 1

I started with a sheet of Foundations Coconut White Card which I scored in half to make a C5 card base.

Next I chose a background from the Dovecraft 8x8" Finding Paradise Pad, and also a sheet of yellow Maya card. Using my Presscut oblong nesting dies, I cut a mat and layer.

Using a wet glue I adhered to my card base.

Step 2

Large Square - Canvas Craft Die - Jamie Rodgers

Taking Jamie Rodgers Square Canvas Die from the Canvas Collection I made a cut in pink Maya card, and using a Bone Folder I scored all the creases.

Using wet glue, I stuck the corners down with the help of Woodware's Mini Pegs to secure whilst drying.

I used one of the topper squares from the same die set and cut a piece from the paper pad ready!

Step 3

Giving my canvas a few minutes to adhere with the glue, I cut my 'reveal panel' with yellow Maya card - measuring 10 x 9cm (scored at 1cm to make it 9x9").

I then cut a panel 8.5" x 8.5" in green card then and stuck this to the tab on the inside.

I cut a mat for the front from the Paper Pad.

Step 4

Metallic Markers By Nova

Stamping time now..... and the matching stamp set to these papers is perfect :-)

For my 'Inside Reveal,' I stamped and then coloured with Nova Fine Metallic Pens and then used a craft knife to cut around them.

Again, I took my wet glue and 2mm Foam Pads to decorate the panel.

Nova's Metallic Markers are just fantastic to give impact to your work.

Here I used a black Fine-liner pen to add stitching detail around the inside.

ree

I added half a velcro fastener to keep the surprise closed.

Using wet glue, add this to the front of the card.

Step 5

Using Ultra Sticky Red Liner Tape, I attached the Canvas to the front of the card.

Now time to get stamping again......

Using the same Stamp Set as earlier, I stamped and coloured a flower and two leaves.

I also stamped out a sentiment and m and layered it.

ree

I used a foam pad on the flower, and then slightly curved my leaves which I then glued underneath the flower.

For a little finishing touch, I added some dew drops to the flower and then using a foam pad, I put the sentiment onto the reveal flap.

This card is easy to make and would be ideal for a baby shower / gender reveal card or just for a secret message for a loved one.

Thanks for joining me and hope you are having relaxing craft time for the start of 2024!!!

Look forward to seeing you on my next blog!

Take care
