Weaving Die Set Bundle - King of the Grill By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania

Hey Crafters!

I'm back with another make using the Craftmania's special Weaving Die Set Bundle!!

This time is a card aimed at the male chef in your life :-). Also perfect for a Father's Day theme....

As always you can find the Shopping List for the products used at the end of this blog.

▪️I started with a 6x6 card base as this seems to be the best size to use for this design.

▪️Using Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die, cut twice in white card and then once in a deep red card. I cut the borders off of both the red and white, and then alternated the white and red all the way across. Once finished, I turn the weave 90 Degrees and then alternated with the rest of the red.

✅ NOTE - If you find it hard to get the final red strips through the weave, cut them down slightly on the long side of each strip.

Your Gingham Tablecloth is complete!

▪️Next I used my Creative Expressions Noble Round Corner Square Die Set and cut 2 of the largest dies which fit onto the card base in white.

▪️Next with just one of the die cuts, use 2 sizes down and cut out of the centre to create a frame.

▪️Now glue your weave to the middle of the solid square (and it will over hang), just trim it down once glue has set. Glue this to the centre of your card base.

▪️With the frame, I used small foam pads to stick to the weave, but if you have thin enough foam tape that would save some time. Adhere to your card.

▪️Next use a circle die to cut a white circle for your BBQ background.

Here I used my Distress Oxide Inks to colour the circle with a green, blue and black (for the smoke) -

I used Mowed Lawn, Broken China and Black Soot.

Glue this to the centre of the weave.

Now comes the fun part.... I love this die set - Creative Expressions Necessities Collection - King Of The Grill as it has so many elements to play with.

For the Grill and Tools I paper pierced them as this gives better effect.

Tip: If you have not done this before then all you do is cut the grill 3 times in red, silver and black and just cut off the pieces needed. The tools were just in silver and black (see photo) stick pieces together.

▪️Next I coloured in the meats and flames with Alcohol Markers as you can get some good shading in with these. Now arrange all the pieces onto your card in your own way, or use my card as a guide.

I used glue and foam pads, some needed to be cut in half for small areas.

Cut out the sentiment from the Die Set and glue to the card.

Hope you enjoyed my blog and have fun making your own version... remember to share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania & Jamie Rodgers.

Best wishes,
