Hey everyone!

I just can't stop making Christmas cards... so I think we will have ask Parliament to make it an all year round holiday lol!!

So who hasn't tried masking before?

Well today I'm going to show you and I'm sure you will love it as much as I do!

Step 1

I used a 7x7 card base and cut a silver mirri layer and then a white linen layer for stamping.

I used my stitched square die set for this.

Step 2

So let's get stamping!

▪️I took a scrap piece of card and tore it length ways. (This will be your mask for the snow).

▪️Place this two thirds of the way down on the white mat.

▪️Then using either a blending sponge, blending brush or a dry baby wipe (all work) gently rub along the torn card strip (only just going over the edge).

Step 3

▪️Next I used the stag and tree from the Dovecraft Christmas stamp set.

▪️I stamped the stag first using a stamping block and Versafine Onyx Ink Pad.

▪️I then added the blue sky using my blending brush and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink Pad.

▪️Next I stamped the stag again onto a sheet of Woodware Masking Paper and cut it out and placed this over my stamped image.

ree

▪️Now use your stamp block and tree... ink it up and return the torn card piece back in place, and then randomly stamp the tree at different heights.

✅ Don't worry about stamping over the stag as he is covered with the mask.

Now this next part is my favourite when it comes to masking....the grand reveal.

It looks a mess, however it always amazes me once the mask is removed.

I coloured the stag with alcohol markers.

Step 4

▪️Using either a white acrylic marker pen or my favourite - white acrylic paint and a fan brush (this works perfectly for creating a snowy effect). Also add some to the trees to give extra effect.

▪️I let this dry for approximately 15 minutes and then assembled my card in the following order :-

Silver Matt

▪️The final part was a sentiment and there was a perfect one in the stamp collection.

I stamped onto white card and then cut a silver mat too.

Before gluing, I used a blending sponge again with a little Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide around the edges.

▪️Add sentiment to the front and the card is completed.

Many Thanks and the best way is to have 2 shades of the colour and then cover with the lightest and then the middle colour around the edges where shae is needed and then blend with lightest colour. Finally add a tiny darker colour to the very edge and then blend with lightest colour again. Give it a try.
