Design Team ~ Christmas In February By Ian Rump-Smith

Design Team ~ Christmas In February By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania Blog

Now I know what you're all thinking!

Christmas is still fresh, and here I am making cards for the Festive Season....

Well, I am guessing you've not seen all the great Christmas products in Craftmania's SALE??

Trust me, it's the perfect time to stock up.... shop now, craft later lol :-)

Ok so today I've got us a lovely Easel Card to make .....

Step 1

I took a sheet of Forest Green card and scored in half.

Next I cut it down to 6x6" for my card base. I folded the front panel vertically.

Next I made my panels for my card.

I used Dovecraft Gunmetal Mirror Card for my mats and then chose 2 sheets from the

Dovecraft Naughty Or Nice

Nice 6x6" Paper Pad for my panels.

Mats : 5 3/8" x 5 3/8"

5 3/8" x 2 1/2"

Panels : 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"

5 1/2" x 2 5/8"

Here I've used Ultra Sticky Double Sided Tape to attach to my card base.

Step 2

Using the Dovecraft Naughty or Nice Decoupage Pad, I chose my image and made it up using foam pads, using glue to adhere to the front panel.

Step 3

I cut out three little Christmas trees in textured matt gold card from the Naughy or Nice Die set.

I glued two of these at an angle either side of my Decoupage topper.

The third I glued to the inside back of my card base.

I next cut a piece of Dovecraft's Christmas Ribbon "With Love At Christmas" and used double sided tape to attach near the bottom of my panel.

I made a march bow and used silicone glue to attach to the ribbon strip

Step 4

Now I needed a stopper for my easel card... so the perfect thing was a button from the Naughty Or Nice Button Pack.

First I used a strip of Dovecraft's Washi Tape from the Little Red Robin range; it's just right for this card. I chose the "Merry Christmas" design.

I put it about a third of the way up from the bottom of my panel, and then used a little of Dot & Dab's Silicone Glue to adhere my button in the centre of the tape.

That is it!

Well I hope you liked this colourfully festive card design; if you're crafting on a budget or batch making - it's brilliant!! The fact it's an Easel card too, just makes it that bit different and special from those on the shelf... don't you agree??
