Floral Basket Butterflies By Jamie Rodgers

Hello all, Today I thought we would have a little look at this simple little card.

Step 1 - Cut the basket die using Kraft card, along with 5 wooden bars.

Step 2 - Take a brown ink pad - I have used a Memento - Potters Clay. Rub the pad directly over the basket and panels to hightlight the raised (embossed) areas of the die cuts.

Step 3 - Weave the extra pieces through the basket, glue them down in place and trim off the excess ends.

Step 4 - Cut a selection of Cherry Blossom flowers out of pink card, and shape them on a Woodware Shaping Pal Mat with a Ball Tool.

Step 5 - Build the flowers to make a collection of flower heads in a multitude of sizes. I settled for 9 flowers for my bouquet.

Step 6 - Add pearls to the middle of your flowers

Step 7 - Cut a selection of leaves from the Cherry Blossom Die Set.

Step 8 - Let's build the card base.. ▪️White Card Blank - 4.5"x5.75"

▪️Pink Layer - 4.25"x5.5" ▪️White Layer - 4"x5.25"

I have chosen to glue my 3 layers together flat, but you could certainly add in some dimension if you wished to.

Step 9 - Add foam tape to the two sides of the basket, and form it slightly so it has a bowed front. and pop it on the front of the card. Step 10 - Now do a little dry run with the flowers and foliage to see how you wish to build your bouquet...

Once happy, add these onto your card. I have used a mixture of foam pads & wet glue (Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue)

Step 11 - Die cut two white butterflies from Bright White Card and add them on to your card. (I decorated mine with a line of pearls in the centres of the flowers)
