Hand Picked By Jamie - August Bundle ~ Frosted Elegance By Ian Rump-Smith

Hey Fellow Crafters!

I hope you are all having a great week, and have had a weekend of crafting heaven....

Have you started those Christmas cards yet?

Don't let the time slip by... it never hurts to make one a week, even if it is the Summer.

My card this week is called Frosted Elegance, and keeps within the vintage theme from last weeks' card, however this one has a little glitz and glam. We all love adding that to our makes!!

The products you will need for this card are :-

For this card I started by using a sheet of A4 white card and folding in half to make a C5 card base.

You can use your own C5 White Card Blanks if you prefer.

Next I used some Matt Gold card to cut Sue Wilson's Mosaic Bauble Background Die for the frame and set this aside.

Then, using the outside die of the Mosaic Bauble set, cut this out using an A4 Double Sided Adhesive Sheet.

As this sheet is double sided, just peel off the top sheet and using your Cosmic Shimmer Chocolate Gold Gilding Flakes, cover the entire die cut using your Woodware Sponge Applicator.

Once finished you can glue the outer Mosaic Frame to your gilded panel, and once dry, remove the backing sheet and stick this to the card base.

  • NOTE ~ The topper is smaller than the card, so line this up to the left side so there is room on the right for the small panel.

For the next step, cut a panel from your Matt Gold and then cut a smaller panel from the Adhesive Sheet and stick it to the gold panel by removing the backing sheet.

Next, remove the front sheet and then use some of your Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes to cover the small panel. Glue this onto the right side of the card making it equal, and in line with the main panel.

Your card is now taking shape and the hardest part is over (it really wasn't that hard was it?).

Next using Sue Wilson's Mini Expressions Christmas Wishes Die, cut this 4 times and glue one on top of the other, so you have a nice chunky sentiment. Now we are going to heat emboss our sentiment.

Turn the sentiment face down into your Versamark Clear Embossing Pad, and sprinkle with

Cosmic Shimmer Detail Gold Embossing Powder; then use your heat tool to melt and set.

  • TIP ~ Remember to put the excess powder back in the pot and seal before heat embossing, otherwise you will have a sand storm!

Once cooled down, you can add this to the bottom of the frame.

For the next part, using the bauble part of the Mosaic Bauble Background Die set, cut the 2 baubles out using your glitter paper only. Add these to the inside of the frame at two different heights.

Now for the finishing touches...

Add a bow to the top left, pearls on the baubles, and pearls and gems to the right hand panel.

Of course you can make this your own by changing the colours, or why not make several different versions....

I hope you like my card, and enjoy making it if you decide to take the plunge!

Until next time, have a great week and look out for a very spectacular card from Lynn Lewis on her Saturday Blog.

Thank you! Well the frame was just too short to fill the card so thought the border would help fill the gap so to speak lol
