Jamie Rodgers Festive Collection ~ Decorations! By Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Hello All.....

Ok... so you may remember I told you that I don’t know what goes on in my head lol.... well

How about making your own classy hanging decorations instead of paying a fortune for them in the stores! You can literally make this as long or as short as you like, and in many colour schemes to suit your home decor!!

Before I start, please excuse my pictures, as I have terrible light in my home and couldn’t hang it anywhere that would photograph. So I hung it on the washing line (as you do) the picture is at the bottom of this page.

So it’s a super simple project to make... so let's get started!!

Step 1

Make up some Rippled Poinsettias

✅ If you read my blog "The Centre Piece' you will see how I've made my Rippled Poinsettias;

you need 4 large and 4 medium. Here, I've already made mine up!

Step 2

Take Creative Expressions Poinsettias Rings and cut out

▪️2 large in Gold Mirror Card

▪️2 medium in Silver Mirror Card

▪️2 small in Gold

▪️2 small in Silver

Then using Non-shedding Glitter Card, cut out -

▪️2 plain red rings large

▪️2 medium plain rings in green

▪️2 small plain rings in red

▪️2 Small plain in green

I’ve tried to show you on my pictures, so it’s easier to follow...

Then cut out 8 gold and 8 silver of the little embossed poinsettias in the same set

Step 3

Stick the colours behind the Poinsettias rings

Step 4

Find some string or thin ribbon and start building your decoration.

▪️First tie a loop at the start so you can hang it up.

▪️Now take the string and the small silver ring, and place it face down.

▪️Put a line of Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue down the centre of the ring, and place your string on the glue. Add a little bit of double sided tape to hold it in place; do the same with the bottom of the same ring making sure it is centred and taut.

▪️Then take one gold embossed Poinsettia and stick that in the centre the same way face down.

Remove the double sided tape covers.

▪️Next take the other half of the ring and stick it onto the one with the string on it.

✅(Don’t worry if they don’t meet up perfectly, I can never get them equal despite measuring I’m convinced my cutting machine moves them !!! )

▪️So take the other side of the embossed Poinsettia and stick that on as well.

So that’s one ring down... three to go!!

Do the same way leaving about 9cm of string between each (or less if you don’t want it that long).

📸 I hope my pictures give you the idea how to to it .

Step 5

Alternate gold and silver embossed Poinsettias along the string between the rings -

the same was as in Step 4.

Step 6

Now stick a poinsettia in each ring on the embossed Poinsettias one side, plus a gem in each of the embossed ones in between.

Then leave to dry turn over and do the other side.

I said it was easy :-) And you're finished!!!!

Of course, you can make different variations like a smaller ring in the large one round the other way instead of poinsettias - I just opted for the easier route so JUST GO FOR IT!!!!!

Hope you have fun, happy crafting and remember we'd love to see your take on our creations.
