Jamie Rodgers Wings Of Wonder & Festive Collections ~ Frosty! By Lynn Lewis

Jamie Rodgers Wings Of Wonder & Festive Collections ~ Frosty! By Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Well hello crafters....

Now I'm very much into mixing my craft die Collections... otherwise they just tend to get tucked away and used only once!!

We have been extremely lucky this year to have had three wonderful new Collections from Jamie Rodgers. Thanks to Jamie's designing, and what I love about them most, is that they all co-ordinate and compliment each other.

About this card....

Now I know we have seen a few white card designs lately, but they are fantastic to work with.

In this tutorial, I want to demonstrate to you that there are so many different ideas, and how you can mix the Collections for any Season or Occasion.

Step 1

▪️Let’s cut out our Rippled Poinsettia from Jamie's Luxurious Christmas Collection.

I always cut out more than I need, because you never know when they might come in handy.

Cut out everything on this set .

▪️For these I used Craftmania's Fallen Snow Card.

It has the most wonderful snowy pattern on it, and gives the Poinsettias that extra texture as well as the embossed ripples.

Step 2

▪️Take the little Snow Berries and cover the berry bits with Cosmic Shimmers Aurora Twinkles and also along the centres and tips of the holly leaves.

TIP - I always add another coat when dry - it doesn’t take too long either.

Step 3

▪️From the Wings of Wonder Collection, cut out the Moroccan Lattice Scalloped Background Die only in White Maya Card.

I used the deckled edge die off the other one, but it doesn’t really matter.

▪️Take the Wings Of Wonder Collection - Part 2 - cut out corners as seen, from the Swirl Corner Duo Die Set in White Maya Card.

Step 3

▪️'Twinkle' up those corners pieces with Aurora again; on all the little bobbly bits - or you can stick on gems if you wish.

I personally prefer the Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles, as they are quicker and I love the sparkle they give.

Step 4

▪️Cut out a double frame using Sue Wilson's Noble Collection - Pierced Square Die Set.

The inside of my bottom frame die measures just under 11cm square.

Miss a die and use the next one up as well, so that the frame is 1.5 cm wide.

The inside of the upper frame die measures 12.5cm square, and as with the lower frame, pick the next one so that also measures 1.5cm wide. I cut these using White Maya Card.

Step 5

Making up the frame

▪️Take the lower frame and stick the Moroccan 'trellis' behind it.

Then take the upper frame and glue this onto the lower frame with foam roll.

(I don’t know about you but I can never get mine on square lol )

▪️Once dry, stick on the corners on as seen below.

Step 6

Building your card

▪️Take an 8x8 White Card Blank and a sheet of Craftmania's Fallen Snow Card

measuring 16.5 x 16.5cm.

▪️Stick this onto the centre of the card blank, then stick foam roll to the base of your double frame and adhere to the card base. I think that in itself looks quite lovely....

Step 7

Make up your Poinsettias

▪️I have one large, one medium and two of the small ones.

Stick in the little centres and stick 3mm pearls to them.

Now glue them to your card (as seen) and tuck in the snow berries and holly leaves as you like...

Step 8

Finish up with a sentiment

▪️I chose Sue Wilson’s "Frosty Winter Wishes" as I felt it fitted in perfectly with the card design.

▪️I cut out 4 of these, before sticking them together. Again, I 'twinkled it up' with Aurora ..

When dry I stuck it to the trellis background - trying not to stick to the card below.

I added some more little pearls to the corners, and your card is finished!!!!

How easy was that.....

I absolutely love how the Fallen Snow Card textures show through the trellis …

This card would also look great in different colours, for different occasions. Why not give it a try yourself and share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Take care

Lynn x
