Sweet Dixie Cheers To You By Ian Rump-Smith

Sweet Dixie Cheers To You By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania Blog

Hello Everyone.....

Hope you're all well and settled back into your craft rooms, creating some wonderful creations!

Now a few months back, I made a 'male themed' card featuring Sweet Dixie's Die Set Cheers, so thought I would make another one as this set is just perfect for all the men out there.

Step 1

▪️I started with a sheet of black A4 card and folded it in half, using a Bone Folder to get a nice crisp fold.

▪️Now taking my Presscut Rectangle die set, I cut two mats; one using Dovecraft's Gun Metal Premium Mirror Card and a second smaller one in plain white card.

Step 2

▪️Using the Beer Glass die from the Cheers set, I cut out 12 individual glasses

NOTE - Set one aside in white card

▪️Next I coloured each with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a Blending Tool (or Smoothie if you prefer).

NOTE - I left a little white at the top of each to look like the Beer foam.

▪️Using a wet glue, I randomly stuck them to the white mat and even let some of them hang over the edges. (See Photo below 📸 )

▪️Once the cuts have dried, I turned over my mat and then cut off any overhanging card - level with the edge of the mat.

Step 3

▪️I cut out the beer pump three times in light brown, dark brown and matt gold card.

Paper piece these together.

▪️I also cut out the cider label in white card, along with a shelf.

I again added colour using blending sponges. I still had colours left on the sponges from earlier, however you can of course apply fresh colour of the Distress Oxides if you need to.

▪️With the remaining pint glass I had left over, I used a little glue on the top and added some cotton wool to make a foam. For a finishing touch, I used my fineliner pens.

Step 4

▪️For the centre panel, I used Creative Expressions Ornate Tile from Sue Wilson Art Deco range.

▪️I cut two outer panels; one in white and the other in Gun Metal Mirror Card

Next I used the frame on the white die cut.

▪️Using what was left on my blending sponges, I gently rubbed on the side of the square frame.

I glued the shelf die cut to the bottom of the frame.

▪️I then added with foam pads the pump and pint glass.

Using wet glue, I stuck the cider label to the pump.

I then adhered the panel onto my card base using foam tape.

Step 5

▪️The final piece was adding the sentiment "Cheers," which I cut out in black card and then added some white highlights.

▪️Using Woodware's Ultra Fine Tip Glue Applicator I added the sentiment to the front.

A super simple, yet cool and effective card for the guys :-)

This Sweet Dixie die set is just perfect and is very popular.... I'd love to see what you can come up with. Share on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.
